Ice Rescue Awareness

This e-learning program is designed for rescue service personnel who respond to and support ice rescue operations. A certificate is issued on successful completion. This online program introduces ice rescue subjects that include site assessment and hazard recognition, Personal Protective Equipment, and an introduction to rescue.

  • This course is the pre-requisite for our ice rescue technician course.
  • Tuition $35

Ice Rescue Operations

This two-day hands-on course provides a Technician I certificate. Designed for emergency service personnel who support ice rescue operations, this course meets NFPA 1006 Operations Standards. Participants will be able to safely and efficiently conduct rescue operations through assessing water and ice conditions in terms of hazards to the victim and rescuer.

  • The student to instructor ratio is 6:1
  • Time Saturday and Sunday 9 am - 5:00 pm
  • Tuition $395 plus HST
  • *$365 Preferred Client Rate
  • Pre-Requisite: Ice Rescue Awareness

Preferred Client Rate: *Register for 3 or more courses together and receive the preferred client discount on each course.

Ice Rescue Technician

This two-day course is an intensive practical application of ice rescue philosophy and techniques. Meeting NFPA 1006 standards, you will utilize previously learned skills in a variety of rescue situations while learning new rigging and rescue procedures. You will plan a response within the capabilities of available resources and implement a planned response consistent with the rescue team's capabilities.

  • The student to instructor ratio is 6:1
  • Time 9:00 am - Conclude 5:00 pm
  • Tuition $395 plus HST
  • *$365 Preferred Client Rate plus HST
  • Pre-Requisite: Ice Rescue Operations

Preferred Client Rate: *Register for 3 or more courses together and receive the preferred client discount on each course.

Ice Rescue Instructor

This three-day course is an intensive practical application of ice rescue philosophy and techniques. Meeting the NFPA 1006 standard, you will utilize previously mastered skills in a variety of rescue situations. You will plan a response within the capabilities of available resources and implement a planned response consistent with the rescue team's capabilities.

  • Time: Start 8:30 am Conclude 5:30 pm 
  • Tuition: $750 plus HST
  • Pre-Requisite: Ice Rescue Technician
